This northern city, embraces amazing flowers in spring. You can witness plum flowers, yulan magnolia, malus spectabilis and oriental cherry flowers etc.

Here are spots with beautiful flowers to enjoy.

Filled with thousands of crab apple trees, this park is home to the biggest national crab apple festival as well. Open 24 hours a day and with free admission, watching the blossoms in this park under the moonlight is an experience that you will not soon forget.

How to get there: Take Subway line 10 to Xitucheng, leave from Exit C then you can enter the park through the West Gate.

With cherry blossom trees planted around the perimeter of the park and the lake within, Yuyuantan Park has long been the favorite place of locals and tourists alike to view cherry blossoms. Rides on the lake, carnival style games and food, and easy access makes this one of the best places for blossom viewing overall.

 

Every spring, the “Cherry Blossom Festival” will be held in Yuyuantan Park, presenting more than two thousands of cherry trees which look like rosy clouds. The breeze is gently blowing your face, the snow-like petals is flying into the sky, this romantic scene attracts crowds of people, and makes them immerse into it.

There are huge plots of tulips planted in Zhongshan Park. They line the paths. Late April to early May is the best time to witness the tulips in full bloom. In addition to the tulips, there are also many other species of garden plants such as wisteria, bamboo, and peonies.

 

Wandering along this park — not too far from Tiananmen Square, you will see colorful tulips blossoms blanket everything in sight. A leisurely stroll affords a calming and enjoyable experience to all who visit the park. It really has to be seen if you are visiting Beijing in the spring.

How to get there: Take Subway Line 1 then get off at the Tiananmen West Station. Walk east for 5 minutes you will reach the south of the park.

Tanzhe Temple has long been famous for its purple magnolias. 300 year old magnolia trees explode with blossoms around this temple each spring. New trees are always being added, creating a white canopy that blocks out unfavorable skies.

 

The light scent of magnolias made them popular in ancient China, while their pristine beauty has carried their popularity forward to the present day. What makes them more special is that they bear both white and purple magnolias. Most magnolia trees only bear white magnolias.

How to get there: Take Subway Line 1 to Pingguoyuan Station, then take Bus 931 at the bus station and get off at Tanzhe Si.

Known for beautiful architecture and being a pleasant place to spend any outing, the Summer Palaceis also filled with cherry blossom trees and even has a number of plum trees as well. The trees line the paths surrounding the palace as well, including small alleys and side streets.

 

In the wake of chilly winter, Yulan magnolias planted in the front of Hall of Joy and Longevity will burst into flowers. Beloved by Empress Dowager Cixi, blooming flowers are full of vitality in the sunshine and make the Hall of Joy and Longevity exceptionally beautiful and splendid.

How to get there: Take line 4 to Beigongmen, and exit from D. Then walk west for 3 minutes to North Palace Gate.

The temple was built in 1068. Lush magnolia blossoms frame this temple during the spring months. The beautiful blossoms beckon visitors into the 500 year old temple, while the courtyard affords one of a kind photography opportunities to visitors.

 

The magnolia tree at the temple is said to be 300 years old. It was planted by a Buddhist monk named Jialing who lived in the Qing Dynasty. The magnolia flowers in Dajue Temple are exceptionally large, bright, elegant and fragrant. These eye-catching flowers surpass other magnolias in Beijing and draw crowds of tourists each spring.

Chinese people consider the lilac to be a symbol of purity. So the flower is often found at Buddhist temples.

Jietai Temple has about 1,000 lilac trees. It is said that twenty are more than 200 years old. Legend has it that during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911), an emperor once visited Jietai Temple, and he ordered the replanting of some lilac trees from the Old Summer Palace to Jietai Temple.

 

Whenever the lilacs bloom in middle of April and in late April every year, the temple is perfumed with the fragrance of lilacs. Clove is an important spice with healthful medicinal effects, and it bears red flowers.

There is a glove of 240 clove trees planted near the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven.

Jingshan Park is famous for peonies. There is a peony display each year in the park. Many varieties of peonies are displayed. Peonies have been displayed in Jingshan Park since the Yuan Dynasty. The park has a display collection of more than 1,000 peonies of some 100 varieties.

Chinese rose is a popular garden bush in China. They grow to be about a meter or two tall. The flowers look like regular roses. There are over 400 varieties of Chinese rose planted in the garden. In the spring, pink, red, yellow, purple, white and blue Chinese rose flowers are in full bloom. This makes for attractive scenery.
