When people speaking of red leaves, they will first think of Xiang Shan (香山). But during the previous years, thousands of people gather around to Xiang Shan and even waited for 4hours to for a parking space.

Now we are going to share some secret places to enjoy the red leaves.

When the autumn painted the maple leaves with red with some green woods adorn aside to make you feel like in the wonderland.

 

Bei Gong Park is one of the nearest nature habitats to the west side of Beijing City. It has around 700 acres of woods surrounded by the lake and if you are lucky enough, you can see some of the wild waterfowl.

 

Most important is that not so much people know this place, so even drive there it won’t get traffic.

Mt. Hong Luo is covered with prunus Armeniaca, sumac and Acer mono. When it’s autumn, the whole mountain will changes to red, with yellow Fraxinus leaves and green Chinese pine, just like an oil painting.

 

In the Mt. Hong Luo, there’s a very old temple called Hong Luo Temple. Hong Luo Temple is the biggest Buddhism garden; even have a label of the No.1 ancient temple, in northern China. While you watching the red leaves can also have a tour of the temple.

It’s was known as the arctic of Beijing due to its located in Manchu area in Beijing. With its high altitude, a big temperature difference between day and night, it has become the first place you can watch the red leaves in Beijing.

The most beautiful high way in Beijing! Ride or drive to Miao Feng Mountain is the best choice. It’s the nearest mountain with over 1000 kilometer altitude in Beijing and along the way to there have beautiful scenery.

 

Due to its special weather here, the red leaves here are as red as fire. Also, you can bring the special sweets back home, the rose pita and rose jam.

The specialty of Mang Shan is its stair, it’s designed to the shape of the mountain, sometimes it’s wide and sometimes will lead you into the wood.

 

After climbing 3666 stairs, the longest mountain climbing stair in Beijing, you will find that it’s the best red leaves you have ever see.

You can say Tan Zhe Temple is the combination of a thousand-year-old temple and red leaves.

 

Autumn is the best season to visit Tan Zhe Temple. The scenery here was already famous since Ming Dynasty. Also in this timing, it’s the harvest season of persimmons, pears, hawthorns.

 

Two giant Gingko trees are the treasure to the temple. Once it’s autumn, the leaves of the trees turn golden and the scene will make you feel like breath-taking when you stand under the trees.

Seldom people know that Mt. Cui Wei can watch the red leaves. Even in some of the Beijingers they only know that here it’s only for coal transportation.

 

But! If you follow the direction that Yong Ding River flows, you will find the Mt. Cui Wei colored with red, yellow and orange. When you climb to the top, you will find it’s also a good place to watch the red leaves.

 

What’s more is, there won’t be crowed, just you and the full mountain of red leaves.

For the Eastern side, starts from Great Wall roundabout to Gu Bei Kou state road, around 60 kilometers long, and for the Western side, starts from Mi Xi road to Hei Long Tan Scenic Area, the 5 forest parks are the best spots.

When it’s mid of October, Jiu Feng starts its season of red leaves but usually the best timing it’s beginning till mid of November.


The red leaves with Gingko, Cotinus coggygria, Acer mono and more, shining under the sunshine, the whole world filled with red, yellow and green. It’s just like the world is painted.
