On the upside are definitely the frozen lakes and canals that turn into skating rinks. Use this to your advantage and enjoy the ice skating possibilities offered around the city. Houhai is always a popular outdoor choice, but there are also options for non-season dependent ice rinks in town. So what is Beijing ice skating? 1. Le Cool (国贸溜冰场)

Le Cool skate rink is one of the best choices for ice skating lovers. Located in basement 2 of the famous China World Mall, in the heart of Beijing’s CBD area, this rink offers an ice surface of 800 m2 for the skilled skaters to enjoy themselves. Also, Le Cool is the training centre of sole figure-skating in Beijing. If you want to take some classes, this is a great place to go to for professional training.

2. All Star Ice Rink

Located on the first floor of the Kid’s Town of Solana Mall, this ice rink is suitable for both entertainment and professional training or competitions. Professional coaches from the Chinese national skating team offer classes in figure skating and ice hockey, among others, for different age groups.

2.  Kempinski “Ice World”

Good news for seasonal ice skaters: the Kempinski Hotel Beijing has just launched a cozy new ice rink “Ice Word”.

The Liangmaqiao hotel’s Ice World rink, open until March 1, is an ideal place to lace up and enjoy a casual skate with friends and family. It can also be rented for tailor-made events such as office team building, birthday parties and more.
