Often called the ‘Central Park of Beijing’, Chaoyang Park covers almost 300 hectares of Beijing with sprawling grass lands and lakes.
Looking over these expansive landscaped gardens and wetlands, you’ll quickly forget that you’re in the middle of one of the largest inland cities in the world.

The park, which lies in a busy part in the center of Chaoyang District, extends to Liangmaqiao Road in the north, Chaoyanggongyuan Road in the west, East 4thRing Road in the east, and Chaoyanggongyuan South Road in the south. The park is close to the embassy district and the central commercial area of Beijing. It is an international scenic spot that blends Chinese and western garden design and architecture, and that offers landscaping, leisure, cultural exchange, and scientific education.

Large landscaped gardens lead to a number of attractions within the park. Including a fairground (with roller coaster), large outdoor and indoor swimming pools as well as the beach volleyball venue for the 2008 Olympics. Visitors can hire bikes or electric cars to explore the park or rent a small boat to cruise around on one of the lakes.

Attractions: What to expect?
So if “just” sports and working up a sweat isn’t your thing, why not take a relaxing dip at the parks very own beach? Hundreds of tonnes of sand have been imported from the south Chinese Island of Hainan. This creates the surreal feeling of being at the beach in the middle of landlocked Beijing. The beach is located in the west area of the park and sees roughly 3.000 visitors every day during the summer months.

For the colder months a large hill of grass is converted into a ski slope. With the help of chilly Beijing winters and artificial snow machines, Chaoyang Park is able to provide entertainment all year round.
