No plans for the coming weekend? Why not do a selfie tour posing with the rich and famous – at Madame Tussauds in Beijing. Located in Qianmen, this is the biggest branch of Madame Tussauds Wax Museums in Asia. If you have been to the Hong Kong branch, you will realize that this one is three times as big. All wax figures are made in London before being shipped to Beijing. The outfits are partly donations from the celebrities themselves. For the Beijing Opera Star Mei Lanfang, his personal stylist came to apply the right make up and do finishing touches on the styling.

Here, you will find your regular stars – like Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson, as well as iconic celebrities from Chinese traditional and popular culture, who somewhat shaped the country’s history. The exhibition is devided into eight sections covering Movie, World Leaders, Music, Beijing Spirit, Sports, TV, A List, and Behind the Scenes.

Movie
Pick up some of the various props, and take a picture with your favorite movie star. No matter if you are into Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Willis,  Bruce Lee, Jackie Chen, or Leslie Cheung, etc. Just start snapping away.

World Leaders
Here, you will find politicians and royals. So feel royal with Queen Elizabeth II or Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton by your side, or have a discussion with Marx, Barack Obama or Steve Jobs.

Music
If you always wanted to jam with the big-shots, you came to the right place. Even if it is just for a picture. Pose with Justin Biber, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Teresa Ten, or Cui Jian.

Beijing Spirit
This is a selection of people who have pushed or shaped the development of China, including Lao She – a famous writer,  Yang Liwei – China’s first astronaut in space, Li Yanhong – founder of China’s largest search engine Baidu, or Hou Baolin – a crosstalk performer, etc.

Sports
If you didn’t make it to the Olympics this summer, just take a picture with Bolt now! Other idols include basketball stars Kobe Bryant, and Yao Ming, Lin Dan, David Beckham and Lionel Messi.

TV
This is a more Chinese section with all your favorite Chinese and Korean actors. You can dive right in and take your picture with hostess Yang Lan, actress Sun Li, or actor Seung Heon Song from South Korea.

 A List
Take a walk on the red carpet and pose with Goerge Clooney, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt, Kate Winslet, Leonardo Di Caprio, Johnny Depp, etc.

Behind the Scenes
If you want to know how the wax figures get so vivid, this section tells the history of Madame Tussauds and processes of making wax figures. You will even find a figure of Madame Tussauds herself.
