Located within the Beijing Zoo, the Beijing Aquarium is one of the largest indoor aquariums in the world. Over 18,000 tons of salt water is divided into seven different exhibitions; Rainforest Adventure, Tidal Encounter, Wonders of Coral Reefs, Shark Wharf, rare Chinese Sturgeon Hall, Whales and Globefish Gulf and Marine Mammal Pavilion.  Visitors will be fascinated by the beautiful blue world upon entering it and where the unforgettable journey of getting close to ocean creatures begins. One will also feel like returning to mother nature upon entering the miniature rainforest that consists the primary jungles of the Amazon Basin, home to over 100 species of rainforest fish and fresh water fish.

 

The aquarium is home to thousands of varieties of exotic fish, sharks and marine mammals. Visitors can enjoy a marine animal performance at the aquariums 3,000 plug capacity marine theater. Sea lions, seals and dolphins, all expertly trained perform from 11am-3pm, Monday to Friday and 11am, 2 and 4pm on weekends.
