Opened in 2003 and the oldest British schools in Beijing, The British Schools of Beijing (Nord Anglia Education Schools) is one of the most prestigious international schools in Beijing. Two conveniently placed campuses will ensure that any family won’t be too far from a campus. Located in the heart of downtown Beijing in the leafy Embassy district BSB Sanlitun is the only English national curriculum Early Years and Primary school in the area. The Shunyi campus offers both Primary and Secondary education and lies in the family focused suburbs, on the outskirts of Beijing.
Both campuses feature state of the art facilities including; gymnasiums, football pitch and tennis courts, 3 theatres, art studio, recording studio and private practice rooms. Both the Sanlitun kindergarten and Shunyi kindergarten follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) framework, a statutory framework in the UK that sets standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five. The curriculum is built around four principles: a unique child, positive relationships, enabling environment, learning and developing.
BSB offers an enhanced English National Curriculum, IGCSE examinations up to the age of 16, followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program to over 1,620 expatriate students from more than 60 countries. Since August 2013, The Shunyi campus now offers a German elementary school program. German students in years 1-4 will be able to take core subjects (German, Math, Humanities and Science, Art and PSHE) taught completely in German by qualified teachers. Endorsed by Volkswagen/Audi, BMW, Daimler and Siemens, this seamlessly integrated program gives German students a chance to study the Thuringia Curriculum while still very much being a part of The British School of Beijing. From Year 1 upwards, BSB Sanlitun has a German Programme for Native Speakers offering three hours a week of classes in German with a German teacher.
