Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental is set to open their first property in Beijing in 2019. The hotel, called the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, is being touted as the premier boutique hotel in Beijing. We find out more.

Mandarin Oriental’s first property in Beijing, the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, is a 73-key hotel that will occupy the top two floors of the WF CENTRAL, a prestigious property with a central location that overlooks some of the city’s most iconic landmarks such as the Forbidden City. Boasting some of the largest rooms and suites in Beijing, the hotel is set to be a coveted destination in one of China’s most popular places. The property will benefit from proximity to some of Beijing’s premier retail areas, as well as being close to the financial district and just a 45 minute drive away from the airport, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. DESIGN
The design of the hotel is surely one of the highlights of the inaugural Mandarin Oriental property in Beijing. The hotel blends classic Chinese opulence wtih contemporary style and sophistication. The rooms are decorated in a decidedly residential manner, making guests feel comfortable and at home. Dramatic carpets contrast against muted wall coverings, and emphasis is put squarely on the fantastic panoramic views that are framed by the floor-to-ceiling glazing that each of the guest rooms enjoys. The new Mandarin Bar and Grill will feature interiors by Adam Tihany, and the hotel will also have a rooftop bar and restaurant, which will attract both guests and members of the public to its open terrace. Other notable features of the hotel include a state of the art spa and wellness centre, a 25m pool with sky roof and easy access to some of the best sights in Beijing.
