The Kindergarten is part of the German Embassy School, also known as Deutsche Botschaftsschule Peking. The main language of instruction throughout the school from Nursery to grade 12 is German. The Curriculum and learning materials in Kindergarten adhere to standards set by the ‘Educational Preschool and Kindergarten Guidelines of the Federal State of Thuringia’. Children are given the opportunity to thrive and develop their individual abilities and talents in a loving and holistic environment.
The Kindergarten provides a wide range of learning experiences such as language acquisition in German and English, music, sports, arts and crafts, mathematics, science and technology for the children to develop their skills and knowledge.
The teachers believe that children learn best in a play based environment where they have opportunities to inquire into their immediate environment and get lots of ‘real life’ experiences – as the school has its own buses, your children are likely to be taken on a journey to parks, museums and famous Chinese landmarks. German and Chinese celebrations and festivities are an integral part of living and learning together in the Kindergarten.
About 150 students from age 2-6 years currently attend the full-day kindergarten classes.
